Welcome to the Eryss.Com Forum!

I'm Apollia, the administrator and owner of Eryss.Com (  My personal website is Astroblahhh.Com (

Unlike Astroblahhh.Com (, which is basically just my own personal soapbox and home for various hobby projects - Eryss.Com ( is intended to be more of a community.

Eryss.Com will probably be mostly focused on astrology and software development - including, but not limited to, the free/libre/open source ( astrology software project I started, Eryss (

But, this forum is definitely not limited to just those topics.

There are some limits, though.  Nothing illegal, or which I'm uncomfortable with, like topics which are adult-oriented, or which contain nasty personal attacks on anyone, etc., etc.

Criticism, disagreement, and skepticism are very welcome.  I just want everyone to be civil and respectful, even when we disagree.  You can criticize the heck out of ideas, but please be nice to people themselves and avoid personal, ad hominem attacks.

If you would prefer more unbridled freedom of speech, I'm sorry that you can't find that here, nor probably on any overly centralized communications medium under potentially dictatorial control, such as a website.

If you want more freedom of speech, perhaps try Usenet (

I am strongly in favor of free (as in freedom), libre, open source ( stuff in general.

So, for that reason, there's now a rule that all posts to this forum posted after Nov. 16, 2015 at 1:15 PM EST (which is when I finally got around to adding this rule) are under the GNU Affero General Public License (

Every post to this forum is individually accepted or rejected, one by one.  (In the future, perhaps I will add some people to a list of preapproved posters.)

I am the only moderator, and I am often rather busy or preoccupied, so, please don't be alarmed if it takes a long time for your posts to get accepted.

It's impossible to edit your posts unless you're a registered user whose posts are preapproved.  However, if you're a registered user, you can delete most of your posts - except for posts which are the first post in a thread that other people have replied to.

I can delete those for you upon request.  Sorry for the inconvenience - but, I know of no easy way to make it possible to delete the first post in a topic without all other replies to the thread (even by other people) also getting deleted.

Unlike many forums, I dislike the idea of permanently banning members.  I'd rather just accept or reject individual posts.

So, in general, you don't have to worry about being totally banned.

Unlike quite a lot of websites, Eryss.Com is a very commerce-friendly website.  So, if you have some goods or services you'd like to promote, please feel free.

As long as it's not utter spam, and not something illegal, immoral, or otherwise objectionable to me, it's probably acceptable here.  It doesn't even have to be related to astrology or software development.

But, please be very cautious when buying/selling/bartering anything to/from/with anyone.  I can't possibly verify whether or not every member or offer is honest.

So, please only buy/sell/barter goods and services at your own risk.

Also, I can't possibly verify whether or not every post on every topic is accurate, honest, etc.  So, please don't ever rely on this website for official, reliable medical advice, legal advice, or anything else, and please only use this website and any info on it at your own risk.

A longer disclaimer is here:

Eryss.Com Disclaimer (

And the most recent registration agreement is at the end of this thread:

Registration Agreement archive (

Sorry for all the lame disclaimers!

Again, welcome, and I hope this forum turns out to be useful and enjoyable for everyone.

Best wishes,
